Gingerbread Recipe

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 beaten egg
1 1/2 cup enriched flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger

Instructions

Pour water over shortening
Add sugar, molasses and egg
Beat well
Add sifted dry ingredients
Beat until smooth
Pour into greased 8" square pan
Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 35 minutes

Gingerbread
